Meeting of the Finance Committee held Saturday, September 7th, 1929. The President Capt. T.A. Clarke in the chair. Also present Messrs J. O’Sullivan, J. Henderson, J. Bennett, W. Desmond and Mr. Cecil Exham of Messrs. Exham & Son Law Advisors to the Society.

The minutes of the last meeting were read & signed.

With regard to the work being carried out in the jumping enclosure by the Southern Greyhound and Sports Coy Ltd. the Secretary informed the meeting that Messrs. Exham had written to the license Mr. John J Fagan, requesting him to submit plans of the work being carried on at the Show Grounds at present and warning him that the Society would hold him liable for any damage done to the grounds. Mr. Fagan wrote to Messrs. Exham stating that this was the first intimation he had received of any alterations or improvement’s being carried out in the grounds. He further stated he had written asking for details so that  a plan can be prepared or alternatively that he would instruct the Secretary of the Company to submit plans. The following letter was read from the Southern Greyhound & Sports Coy Ltd.

                                Dear Sir,

                                             I have yours of the 5th  and must remind you that when you were planting the furze jump.’’ You informed Mr. Hanna and I that the furze was only being planted there as a temporary measure to keep the growth in them.

I must also remind you that you were informed by your committee in the presence of Mr. Hanna & I that these furze had no right to be there and that they would have to be removed this being so we intend removing them to-morrow.
