                                            Dear Mr. Byrne

                                                          Annual Bull Sale

It has been suggested to us by the D.A.J.J that our Annual Bull Sale in Cork, should in future be held under the auspices of some Public Agri body, owing to the growing importance of this fixture.

The sale is one of the oldest established in Ireland and caters for breeders of all classes & has always been found to be a satisfactory market for animals, which may not be ready for exhibition at your Spring show.

The sale is largely patronised by your members and on this account and for the purpose of raising the status of our sale, we take the liberty of applying to you for permission to hold the sale in future under the auspices of your Society to comply with the wishes of the Dept. If our application is favourably entertained, we would be prepared to set aside an agreed amount of money each year to be awarded in prizes to members of your Society, who may be offering Bulls at our sale or we would be prepared to pay the amount to the Society as an additional subscription.

Trusting you will place our application before your Committee at an early date as the department are anxious to have our reply.

If necessary, we would attend your meeting and discuss the matter & help to arrive at a satisfactory arrangement.

After some discussion Mr. O’Sullivan proposed that permission be granted to Messrs Marsh & Sons to hold these sale under the auspices of the Society & the details etc. be left in the hands of the President & the Secretary seconded by Mr. J. Daly & passed.

The Secretary was instructed to prepare an estimate for the erection of Poultry Hall 50’+ 50’   12’ to the eaves.
