Meeting of the Show Committee held Saturday July 20th, 1929.

Mr. Wm. Roberts in the chair also present. Messrs. J. O’Sullivan, A.H. Moore, D. Ross, J. Daly, M. Twomey, Wm. Desmond & J. Barrett.

The Secretary read a letter from Mr. J. O’Shaugnessy resigning from the General Committee.

                       It was decided to ask Mr. O’Shaughnessy to re-consider his decision.

                       On the motion of Mr. D.J. Lynch seconded by Mr. J.J. O’Donoghue the following cheques were passed.

The minutes of the last meeting were read & signed.

A letter was read from Dairy Shorthorn Breeders Society asking for the use of the show grounds for this annual show & sale to be held on 19th Sept. On the motion of Mr. A.H. Moore seconded by Mr. Jas Daly it was decided to grant permission.

A letter was read from the Manager Mr. R.W. ………… of the City of Cork Steam enclosing cheque for £15=0=0 being his Coys contribution towards the prizes at the late show. He also stated he was considering the idea of presenting miniature Cups to the winners . On the motion of Mr. Daly seconded by Mr. O’Sullivan a vote of thanks was passed to the Stem Pkt. Coy .  A similar vote was passed to Hon Mr. Justice Wylis and Col Alexander who kindly judged at the late Show free of charge. The above was on the proposition of Mr. Daly seconded by Mr. D. Ross.

On the motion of Mr.A.H. Moore seconded by Mr. J. O’Sullivan the date of the summer show was fixed for the 25th & 26th June, 1930.

                             The Secretary read a list of exhibitions whose horses were absent on the second day of the late show, such list being supplied by the senior Steward. The Secretary was instructed to write to the exhibitions concerned asking them for an explanation.

                              Mr. J. O’Sullivan proposed that this Committee recommend to the Finance Committee to build extra Box Stalls owing to the shortage of same at the late show seconded by Mr. M Twomey & passed.

                   It was decided to have a special meeting of the Show Committee in connection with a Horse Breeding scheme.
