Joint Meeting of the Show and Finance Committee held in the Committee Room, Show Grounds ,on Saturday,24th January,1931.Mr. Wm. Roberts  in the chair, also present Messrs. T. O’Sullivan, E.J. Clarke, D. Ross, A.H. Moore, N. Hayes, P.J. Halliden, M. Twomey and W. Desmond.

Joint Meeting of the Show and Finance Committee held in the Committee Room, Show Grounds ,on Saturday,24th January,1931.Mr. Wm. Roberts  in the chair, also present Messrs. T. O’Sullivan, E.J. Clarke, D. Ross, A.H. Moore, N. Hayes, P.J. Halliden, M. Twomey and W. Desmond.

The minutes of the last meeting  of both Committees were read and signed.

The members then inspected the various parts in the Grounds  and the site where the new building is to be erected.

The following suggestion made by the Sub-Committee ,who were appointed in new building  was adopted:- ‘’That the Churning Competitions  held in conjunction with the Summer Show in the Dairy Shed  in the Quadrangle be held in future in a portion of the new hall, which is to be erected  for housing the exhibits of the Departments of lands and agriculture ,and the Cork County Committee of Agriculture’ ’and the following new works at  accost of £372 was passed. On the motion of Mr. E.J. Clarke  seconded by Mr. Hayes, but same to be subject to permission by the Finance Committee at a later date:-New concrete road,300 feet long,13 feet wide £150 ,one concrete road  at right angles to this £36, and to concrete one of the existing roads to sheep shed £36,painting  and decorating interior of buildings £100, cost of foundations  for the new building £50.

In connection  with the recommendation  made by the Dog Show Committee that they  wish to draw attention to the very inadequate catering at the 1930  Summer Show and suggesting that enquires be set on foot with a view to finding  a Catering Contractor  capable of  carrying  out the work, it was decided that Mr. Moore, Mr. Desmond and the Secretary  should wait on Mr. Musgrave of the  Metropole hotels in connection with the matter.

It was decided that standing gallery accommodation be provided in the Auction Hall for the forthcoming Spring Show  and sale.

The Stewards who acted as Stewards at this Show  and sale  were re-appointed  for this event.
