Meeting of the General Committee dated May 5th, 1888, with the President in the Chair

Minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed.
Mr. Donald and Young having been proposed and seconded at a former meeting of the society was elected members.
Mr. John Dowling of Pier New Blackrock was proposed by Mr. L.A Beamish and seconded by Mr. Meade a member of the society.
Mr. R.Newman proposed of Mayor Barry seconded that the dates of holding the show be altered to the 5&6th which was agreed to by a majority of 6 votes.
Read letter from the secretary Cork Athletics Club asking for the loan of the use of the stand which on the motion of Mr. L.A Beamish seconded by Mr. Newman it was decided to give them.
Read letter from the Royal Dublin Society asking for some suggestions from the committee as to the next plan to be adopted for the selection of premises Bulls and also to name their competent member to act as a judge, after some discussion the secretary was directed to write that as the season was so far advanced the committee regretted that they could not offer any suggestion as to the selections of premises for Bulls, but that they would recommend the following guidance, to act as judges showed their reserves be required Mr. James Bryne, Mr. Ferguson, and Mr. Garfit.
The following cheques were passed:
Mr. Warren expenses: £5.7.6
Secretary for Guidance: £6.18.2
