The minutes of the last half yearly meeting was read and signed.
The estimated accounts for the year ending 31st December, were read by the Secretary, and it showed that there was an estimated profit of £620-12-5 on the year. The statement of accounts was moved by the President, seconded by Mr. D. O’Connor.
Col. Ryan said that he would like to draw the meetings attention to the competition for novice animals in the jumping competitions at last year’s show. The horses were asked to jump a heavy pole, nearly 5 feet high. This pole was painted white and had as a background a white tent, which made it impossible for horses to see. In short, he was of opinion that the first four jumps wanted altering and re-arranging. In the novice jumping competition the pole jump should be made lesser and the pole should be of the lightest possible material. After some discussion ,on the suggestion of Miss Gubbins it was left to the Show Committee to consider the question of the jump.
