Meeting of the Dog Show Committee held on Thursday ,30th April,1931. Mr.L. Dobbin in the chair, also present Mrs. Fielding , Miss Patten and Mr. A.H.Shortt.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and signed.
Letters were read from various exhibitors agreeing to guarantee classes at the forthcoming Summer Show. A letter was read from the Pekingese association, stating that they would be prepared to guarantee some classes, provided the Committee would have a Specialist Judge , which the club are prepared to give free of charge to the Society and on a further condition that we schedule the requisite number of classes for the ‘’Green Star ‘’. The Secretary was instructed to write and thank the Pekingese Association and to inform them that the Committee regretted they cannot see their way to accept their offer. Of a Specialist Judge unless all the classes were guaranteed by the Pekingese Association.
A Letter was read from the Hon. Secretary of the Blue Terrier Club asking for the proposed Classification of the Blue Terries for the forthcoming Show, and stating that his club would be prepared to guarantee some classes, provided we had one of the Judge s recognised by the club, which they would send free of charge. The Secretary was directed to write and inform the Blue Terrier Club that the classification would be entirely dependent on the amount of guarantee s forthcoming , and to point out that they regretted they could not accept a specialist judge unless the classes were fully guaranteed classes, confined to Black Cockers. After discussing the Committee instructed the secretary to write and inform the Guarantors that they were of opinion that classes for Cockers would not fill, and suggesting that they would leave these open.
