Meeting of the General Committee held on Saturday, 19th October, 1940, with Mr. E.J. Clarke in the chair, also present Ald. W. Desmond, commander W.R Hodder, Messrs T. Sullivan, A.H. Moore, J.O'Regan, D. Cronin, A.Mullins, E.J. Cussen, H.Twomey, J.D. Sheedy, R. Ellis, H.S. Hayes, W. Richardson, M.Ryan, and M. Twomey.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and signed.

Communication from the secretary of the Commission on vocational organisation.
A communication was read from the secretary of the commission vocational organisation, stating that the commission is at the point of examining the position of the various organisations engaged in or associated with agriculture, and he had been instructed to write to ask your society to be good enough to supply the commission with facts concerning the society, date of origin, membership, privileges, activities, success attained, etc. (for full particulars of the questionnaire see minutes of the finance committee of the 19th October, Folio 52, Minute Book)
After discussing the matter, the recommendation of the finance committee was adopted, and Professor Boyles name was added to the committee to prepare the memorandum of the society's work.
Outgoing member of show committee re-elected.
On the motion of Mr.E.J.Cussen, seconded by Professor Boyle, the outgoing members of the show committee - The Lord Mayor (Ald Desmond). Messrs E.Wall & F.G.Hayes, were re-elected, there being no other nominations received.
On the motion of the Lord Mayor (Ald Desmond), seconded by Mr P.J.Good, the following members of the Dog Show Committee were re-elected.
